Leeto la Tshepo (A journey of hope) reflects the quiet strength carried in everyday movement, the kind of journey that is not always loud, but deeply meaningful. Through the image of a mother walking with a child on her back, the work speaks to care, survival, protection, and the generational passing of hope. I am drawing on the landscape of Bokone, where the movement of resilience is a rhythm. The figure moves forward into an open and uncertain space, symbolising faith in what lies ahead despite the weight of the present. Created in charcoal and ink, the monochromatic palette allows the emotional depth of the work to come through gently, honouring the resilience of women and the silent journeys they carry for themselves and those they nurture.
